Yep, it's here now

I'm making it official. At least fo me, spring is here. It might snow tomorrow, it doesn't matter, I've felt it in the air. Of course I had to immortalize this trhough my camera lens on a walk I took after work. And I could stand on the balcony when I needed to freshen up a big bunch of flowers I bought on sale from the super market. Sweet!

finally good enough weather for striped spring-shoes from Monki
I love how the shells and seaweed  in this picture looks like circus tents in front of a forest

Dressing up

A couple of weeks ago I ordered two seriously sweet dresses from Ruche. This Friday I got a letter saying they were now waiting for me at the post office - but the post office had allready closed once I got there. Upsetting as that was then, today I'm glad I had something to look forward to all day! The two newcomers will be great additions to my spring-wardrobe, I just need to find the right accessories (warm cardigans and thick tights) to be able to start using them soon.

A couple of days ago I got a nice little package in my mail-box. I bought this beautiful print from the very talented photographer Hilda Granath. She's selling this and other photos to help the victims of the earthquake in Japan. You can see more pictures here. I like how this hopeful spring-trees contrast to the winter ghost-tree from Jessica Silversaga.

Just so you know, ordering pizza for home delivery is really expensive here in Norway. But today we got lucky, they could not deliver within the hour they promised so we got it for half the price! Almost Swedish price! Yay! Now it's time for pizza-dinner, a beer and probably a Batman dvd.

Vad är klockan egentligen?

Jag bara undrar.

look and listen

Nothing special

Today I'm waiting for A to come back home from a ski-trip and generally just relaxing as much as possible. The relaxing part happened to include a real high quality film experience since NRK 2 showed "Emil i Lönneberga"  - one of my favourite Astrid-stories. Obviously the target audience for this film isn't 27 year old women, but I'm a child a t heart. And everything in this film is just so idyllic and easy, and sometimes that's all you need.

I've also had a long talk with my best friend L and just received a MMS with a picture of her baby E. I miss them all. The telephone is an amazing invention though.

Now the sun finally stopped hiding behind the clouds and I think I'll clean the bed room window. So that the sunshine actually can reach inside.

Well, that's my Sunday!

So I went to Oslo to spend some time with my dad from Friday to Saturday. We were lucky an had perfect weather. We also ate some good food, did some shopping and walked around in this splendid city. Can't wait to go back when it's actually a bit warm as well.

spring wish-list

Today this amazing coat from Modcloth was featured in a blog-post at one of my favourite style blogs  - The Clothes Horse. Not only is it super stylish, it's called Flock of the Bay - how sweet isn't that name? And of course it makes me want to listen to this song - one of my all time favourites.

I want it.

take a seat

Finally I've had the energy do do a tiny home-improvement project!
A couple of weeks ago I bought this little stool or foot rest from Fretex. The fabric on the seat was actually rather sweer, but it doesn't go with anything in the rest of the apartment. So it needed a make-over. (but naturally I saved the original fabric underneath the new one, don't worry.)

Oh dear, this cost 62 NOK when it was new!

I'm honestly not all that satisfied with my choice of "new" fabric, but I could not resist trying it out. I found this remnant in one of my drawers and it was the best I had at hand. It's an IKEA fabric I got from the bargain corner maybe five years ago. Anyway. I think it turned out OK, but I'll probable re-re-make it as soon as I find the perfect fabric. Or maybe I'll try printing/painting my own fabric for it.

weekend recap

I feel rested and peaceful after this weekend, and looking at my photos from these past few days I actually got quite a lot done! And here I was thinking all I wanted to do this weekend was sleep.

On Friday me and the Amazing A ate Indfian food (again) and went to the cinema. The food was great which was no huge surprise as I ordered the same thing as usual (Hello, my name is Creature of Habit).

The film was not so wonderful though. We saw a thriller with Anthony Hopkins - The Rite. It was OK. I fell asleep.

On Saturday I went skating with T and some of her other friends. It's been a while, but I only fell once and that one I blame on T. I took it quite easy and spend time with some very well organized penguins. Until they took me hostage. Too bad the light inside the arena did not work well for photos.

Other black and white birds

We continued the evening with "after-skate" at T's place,  with vegetarian lasagne and card-games in front of the fire. I had my new bird-dress on.

What is better than to hang out in front of the fire after an icy day?
even more birds
On Sunday me and A went for a walk on the islands where we live. I was looking for treasures but at first I was unlucky. Then I struck gold!

Yesterday after work I put on some spring-inspired clothes and took a walk in to town.

It was a nice walk, I could almost believe that is finally here - the long awaited, brighter season.

And then I reached my destination - Renaa Restauranten, and an untraditional Wednesday-burger! Our friend J is in town and was responsible for this very tasty idea. Eating together with a bunch of friends is such a good thing to do on a weekday. And I think the burger at Renaa was one of the better ones I have tasted, and due to our tradition of Friday-burgers I have tried quite a few by now.

Good food... Nom nom.
And that was that Wednesday!

I have not been a very good blogger lately, lack of energy, creativity and blog-joy I guess is to blame. Today I'm just going to share some pictures of the pretty flowers I bought on sale at the supermarket yesterday and hope that the happy pictures can inspire some spring-feelings.

Oh, and another thing that's good when spring feels to far away: Power Yoga. Fantastic!

Snowy Saturday in Sauda

Here's a little update on what I did this weekend!

Living in Stavanger your're so lucky you can take the boat when you want to go skiing. Fjords rules! All you have to do is make a pretty early start of the day and then you can be off to some fairly good slopes. Oh, and you'll have to pay as well.

don't know these guys, I was just after the view.
After 2 hours on a boat there's a short bustrip to the skicenter in Sauda.

And the fun can begin! The day started with some menacing clouds and bad visibility. The mountains still look pretty though.

One of the best things with ski-trips is the packed lunch. The amazing A had stayed up late on Friday night to make pancakes. Awesome.

After a well deserved lunchberak we headed out to the slopes again. And there was sun!

Skiing is hard so at times you just have to take a break for a while. And maybe reload your energy with a Kvick Lunsj from the backpack.

And then ski some more.

On the way back I took this picture while waiting for the ferry to leave from the harbour.  Pretty, huh?
